Best Passive Income option for creators

What is passive income all about?

Well, I don't really have to explain what passive income is. If you searched for this term, you probably already know what it means. But I’ll still explain it a bit. Passive income is income that you earn after you set up a system once, and then it continues to generate money automatically. For example, some websites offer referral programs. If you refer someone, you earn a percentage every time that user makes a purchase. So imagine you refer your friend to a website called XYZ. Every time your friend makes a purchase on that platform, you earn a small commission from it. So, I think your creator probably gained 200 followers, and now you think you can start making passive income. You might even be thinking you can become a millionaire. Don’t worry — almost everyone thinks the same at the beginning. But in some ways, you are actually right. Passive income can become a good and sustainable source of income if you do it the right way. However, I think you’ll probably need more than just 200 followers 😄 Don’t worry though — I’ll explain everything today.

1. Sell Digital Products

You’ve probably heard about digital products before. Unlike physical products like cars, perfumes, or shoes, digital products are things you can deliver online—such as songs, ebooks, guides, templates, or exclusive content. If you’re a creator or you run an Instagram page about books, movies, or lifestyle, you can actually turn your audience into a small source of income using this method. Let’s take a simple example. Imagine you run a lifestyle Instagram page with around 200 followers. These followers are interested in things like clothes, shoes, outfits, and fashion ideas. Even though 200 followers may not sound like a lot, they are still people who trust your recommendations. You can use this to your advantage. For example, you find a nice outfit on Amazon or Flipkart. Many online stores offer affiliate programs, which means you get a small commission whenever someone buys a product through your special link. Here’s what you can do: First, create a short reel or post showing the outfit. Talk about why you like it, how it looks, or how people can style it. Keep it natural and honest so your audience trusts your recommendation. Next, place the affiliate links inside a Skymute LinkBox. You can either make the box free so everyone can access the links, or you can make it paid if you’re offering a curated list of premium outfit ideas. Then simply tell your followers: “Outfit links are in my bio.” When people click the link in your bio, they’ll open your Skymute LinkBox, where they can find all the outfit links in one place. If even a few people from your 200 followers buy something through your link, you’ll earn a small percentage from the sale. It might not sound huge at first, but over time it can grow. And if you want to earn more, the solution is simple: grow your audience. The more followers you have, the more people will see your recommendations. So if today you have 200 followers, tomorrow you might have 2,000. And with a larger audience, your potential earnings grow as well.

2. Become an “alpha master” and sell an online course

Yes, I’m not kidding — sell a course like Andrew Tate 😄 You can sell an educational course about almost anything. For example, you could explain Newton's laws of motion, or teach people how to use ChatGPT more effectively. Let’s take another example. Suppose you are a lifestyle influencer. You could create a course about things like: How to choose the best outfit How to dress properly for different occasions How to groom yourself and look neat How to pose better on camera Basic modeling tips People who want to improve their lifestyle, fashion sense, or social media presence might buy this type of course. The process is actually simple: Record your course videos. Upload the videos to cloud storage like Google Drive or Dropbox. Copy the video link. Add that link to your paid LinkBox. Tell your followers to check your LinkBox if they want access to the course.

3. Create a YouTube Channel

I know that today it’s not very easy to start a YouTube channel, because there is a lot of competition. But it is still one of the best ways to turn your followers into long-term income. If you already have an audience on platforms like Instagram, you can use it to grow your YouTube channel. First, try to create viral reels or short videos in your niche. When your reels start getting views, you will slowly gain followers who are interested in your content. These followers already like what you post, so many of them will be willing to follow you on YouTube as well. Next, create a YouTube channel and start uploading videos related to your niche. Focus on making high-quality videos and try to upload consistently. The more useful or entertaining your videos are, the more likely people are to subscribe and keep watching. As your channel grows, you can start earning money through YouTube ads once you meet the monetization requirements. Your older videos can continue generating views over time, which means they can keep earning ad revenue even months or years later. You can also create exclusive or premium videos and offer them through channel memberships. In this case, viewers who want extra content can subscribe to your channel and pay a monthly fee to access those videos.

4. Start a Startup

Alright, I’m not saying you’ll become a billionaire tomorrow… but starting your own brand can definitely turn into something big if you do it the right way. A lot of creators today are doing exactly this. They first build an audience, and then they turn that audience into a real business or brand. The idea is simple: build trust with people first, then create something they actually want to buy. For example, let’s say you run a page about fashion, lifestyle, fitness, or streetwear. Over time, you start gaining followers who like your style and the things you post. These people follow you because they trust your taste. Once you have that audience, you can think about creating your own product. One common example is starting a small clothing brand. But before jumping into it, spend some time doing a bit of research. Learn how clothing is made, how products are sourced, and what kind of quality people expect. After that, start small. You don’t need to launch 20 products on day one. Just start with one simple product, like a hoodie, t-shirt, or outfit that matches your niche. You can even ask your followers what they like. Run a poll on Instagram or ask them what kind of style they would actually wear. When people feel involved, they become more interested in what you’re building. Once you know what they like, create a good-quality version of that product and show it on your page. Post photos, reels, or short videos explaining the idea behind it. When people start buying it, pay attention to what they say. Ask them for honest feedback. Do they like the quality? The design? What would they change? Then take that feedback and improve the next product. That’s how many brands grow — slowly, step by step. One product becomes two, then three, and eventually you have a small brand that people recognize. Will it make you a billionaire? Maybe not. But if you keep improving, listen to your audience, and stay consistent, your small idea could grow into a real and successful business over time.
